hi I bought my son a portable turntable for xmas but it jumps on majority of records. anything you can do

my old denon cd-receiver has been unused for a few years. I sent it off for repair to cd-tray that did not open. it came back working, but only for 2 minutes. it now plays discs and radio, but there is no sound coming through, not due to cables or speakers. been told it could be amplifier. is this something fixable and any idea at what cost? would love to have this fantastic old unit back working.

hi - the platter on my turntable has stopped spinning. power works ok and theres no weird sounds and the belt seems ok, but probably in need of replacing as prior to breakdown was all over the place with pitch. whats a rough quote to fix please?thanks,
